My photography pursues themes of contrasting shapes & textures, life & experience, nature & civilization. I seek to organize the chaos of the natural world into a harmonious composition, a moment in time and space. Walking city streets or visiting the mountains, watersheds and plains of the Mountain West, I find a constantly change palette of nature, weather, atmosphere and light.
I’m inspired by the brilliant street photographers like Henri Cartier Bresson & Garry Winogrand, as well as the California Western photographers like Ansel Adams and Edward Weston. My point of view is almost always a 35mm lens on a digital camera with post processing in color or conversion to black & white.
You can see more of my photos at PhotoKinesis.INFO. Photographs are available for purchase.
I present regular photo classes and workshops in Fort Collins, for small groups and one-on-one training. Are you new to digital cameras? What makes a good photograph? How do I manage files and post-processing for best effect? These workshops are for all levels of camera users, and cover a number of different topics:
The group classes are usually a small circle of people of all ages and all levels of experience. We'll meet at a nature area, a park, or a coffee shop to share our experiences and chat about photography. "No question is too basic."
